Gishwati-Mukura National Park is a established protected area in Rwanda, formed by the merging of two forest reserves, Gishwati and Mukura. It is Rwanda’s fourth national park, joining Nyungwe, Akagera, and Volcanoes National Parks. This park is located in the northwest of Rwanda, near Volcanoes National Park in Ruhengeri. It sits on the ridge that separates the Congo and Nile water catchment areas, straddling the Rutsiro and Ngororero districts.
